Second version of machinist Fred Stone, Machinist


The portrait was taken in his workshop in Hove, East Sussex. He has now retired and has removed the old lathes and machinery. One more traditional craftsmen has been lost.
Photographed on medium format transparency film, scanned followed by post-production in Photoshop.

    Forgive my intrusion, a google search trying to answer what velvia is like for skin tones led me on several goose chases and than thankfully to this portrait and your photography! Ah, the internet! Really appreciating this portrait.
