Portrait of the artist Dan Baldwin in his Brighton studio. Images ©Bip Mistry 2007
Photographs were shot handheld, slow shutter speeds resulting in the blur and movement. I wanted a grainy feel which would come with the low light and fast film. I also find that with numerous shots there are ones which work well in a series.
It was a one and half hour session in a cold studio in the evening. I asked Dan to paint as he would normally in the studio and I worked around him.
Images shot on black and white film, then scanned.
