Georges Favre Jacot set up a watchmaking company at the age of 22. He called the company Etablissements George Favre-Jacot (later to become Zenith) and brought together all aspects of watchmaking into one operation. Zenith still manufactures its own mechanical movements.
Success came early with a Gold medal at the Geneva Swiss National Exhibition
in 1896. The company went on to win a Gold medal at the World Fair in Paris and numerous first prizes from the Neuchâtel’s Observatory for its chronometric precision.
