Interior Photography of Nando’s
An example from the Nando’s interior shoot.

Biggest problem was the sun screaming in through the window, and it was there throughout the one and a half hours I was photographing. I bracketed the exposure, over- and under-. Some Photoshopping helped to tone down the contrast.

time for a reaaaaaaly stupid question:
why do people contact a good photographer like you to make this kinda images? do i overestimate the capabilities of non-artistic people?
maybe thats why i wouldnt be a good pro-photographer: i would have a hard time to determine the correct renumaration for work done.
this is one image of several taken in a short period of time. with post-production the images are useful marketing tools for the client. there are numerous ways in which to look at an interior so different photographers would produce different results. more time allows for better images. if you’re suggesting that anybody can take this image then think of some of the variables: find the client, show them you can produce what they want, buy the cameras, lenses etc., buy the computer, software etc., have transport, be organised, have people skills, think quick on the spot, make alterations to a scene to get the best image, see alternatives….
i worked with an architectural photographer who needed to get approx. 6/7 shots in a day, he probably charged around £600 plus expenses. he specialises so clients know exactly what to expect. for this job i drove for 3 hours, shot for 2 hours, edited and post-production for 1 hour, and got paid a lot less than £600 for the work!
thanks for this elaborate reply!
btw, i was fully aware of the variables and
“if you’re suggesting that anybody can take this image”, no i was not, not at all. I was suggesting that sometimes i think it is hard for the photographer to see the added value for the customer. I just have to learn “if someone asks it, that means it do have an added value for him - thats not the photographers problem”..
i have my first interior assignment today [am an amateur btw] and i’m nervous. lets see what happens.
