Phone call from the Gaza Strip, documentary photography
My friend from Gaza called this morning to wish me a happy birthday. He works at the El Wafa Rehabilitation Hospital. The building faces the Green Line in the north of the Strip opposite Ashkelon. The hospital has been attacked by Israeli troops in the past despite the Geneva Convention. A recent incursion resulted in 15 deaths/casualties.
There is a shortage of food. Things are not good. Civilians are struggling.
I have not heard from Amnesty International re the Gaza exhibition. Takes a long time for them to make their mind up. I wonder what the criteria is!

I’ve been thinking of a solo exhibition in the centre of Brighton of my documentary photography, and with some of my early work going back to the 1980’s. There is one possible venue which is big and on a grand scale. With some good lighting and presentation I could put on a good exhbition in February or March 2008.
